Description of Ureaplasma urealyticum

• taxonomy: Bacteria; Firmicutes; Bacillus/Clostridium group; Mollicutes; Mycoplasmataceae; Ureaplasma
• Ureaplasma urealyticum is a wall-less bacteria descended from low G + C Gram positive bacteria. It is a very small colony mycoplasma. It is associated with adverse pregnancy outcome (chorioamnionitis, intrauterine infection, & premature birth).
• The total number of ORF of Ureaplasma urealyticum used in this study is 613.
