Description of Pyrococcus abyssi

• taxonomy: Archaea; Euryarchaeota; Thermococcales; Thermococcaceae; Pyrococcus
• Pyrococcus abyssi is a microbe isolated from samples taken close to a hot spring situated 3500 meters deep in the south-east Pacific. Its optimal growth conditions are 103 degreeC and 200 atmospheres pressure.
• The total number of ORF of Pyrococcus abyssi used in this study is 1765.
