(no picture) Research focuses on the computational analysis of the sequence, structure and function relationships among proteins. With the goals of establishing these relationships toward the correct annotation and prediction of protein function through the use of data mining, feature analysis, homology detection and machine learning techniques. Specifically involved in distinguishing and identifying protein or enzymatic specificity. Past projects have included subcellular localization prediction of whole proteomes for proteins of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. And separately the creation of a protein database and function prediction method for proteins involved in the cell cycle processes.
